Make THe Right Choice
Make sure your trees are an asset, not a liability
Is your tree in need of some TLC?
Healthy, well-maintained trees have many benefits. They can add value to your home, reduce your heating and cooling costs, and even improve your happiness and wellbeing. But sick, damaged or unhealthy trees can be more of a liability than an asset, potentially causing property damage or personal injury. If you think a tree(s) may be in need of some extra TLC, Tree Menders can help.
It isn’t always obvious when a tree is sick, damaged or unhealthy, so we recommend having your trees checked up on regularly, regardless of any visible signs of damage. Our recommended frequency is typically between 1 and 5 years, but varies based on a few factors like the current condition and age of the tree. Contact us and we’ll be happy to discuss your tree(s) and our best recommendations.
Signs your tree may be a liability
There are obvious signs you can look out for to see if your tree may be a risk:
- A tree trunk is leaning and/or its bark is buckling at the base
- There or dead branches or hanging, broken or damaged limbs
- Parts of the tree have no leaves or a thin leaf cover
- There are cracks in the trunk or bark is missing
- There is raised soil at the base of the tree
- Sawdust or shavings are around the tree, possibly indicative of an insect problem
If you spot any of these signs, contact us and we can work with you to recommend the best course of action and appropriate tree services—and hopefully save your tree!
When it’s time to say goodbye
Sometimes a tree may be too hazardous to keep around, particularly if it poses a risk to people or property. It may have run its course and be diseased, damaged, dying or already dead. A tree or its roots may be too close to a building or power line. Or, you may need to remove a tree to make room for something else, like residential or commercial development.
Whether you have your tree removed or it comes crashing down on its own accord, that tree is going to leave a stump. In addition to being unsightly and a potential tripping hazard, stumps can harbour unwanted pests. These pests can sometimes spread to other healthy plants and trees on your property, and even into your home.
Whatever the reason, we’ve got you covered for all of your tree and stump removal needs. Contact us for your free quote on our honest and quick services.
